John Mitchell Fine Paintings
John Mitchell Fine Paintings has been associated with traditional British and European paintings for ninety years. With a gallery just off Brook Street in the heart of London’s Mayfair, the business is now run by James and William Mitchell, the grandsons of John Mitchell who began the dealership in 1931, and their colleague James Astley Birtwistle.
From Dutch paintings in the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. to a nineteenth-century Swiss oil in the Louvre, John Mitchell Fine Paintings has a rich history of finding works for museums and international private collectors alike. Nowadays the gallery is also renowned for its annual exhibition of Alpine art, and its flourishing association with the landscape painter James Hart Dyke. Across all schools, periods and values, John Mitchell Fine Paintings continues to seek, with rigorous selectivity, the highest standard of quality in the paintings offered for sale, backed up by both scholarship and integrity.
